Louise is in operation in a fast food restaurant considered in the state of a waitress and has some problems by her friend Jimmy, who, as a musician, is at all times on the road. Thelma is conjugal to Darryl who likes his wife to stay still in the kitchen so that he have power to watch football on TV. One twenty-four hours they decide to break out of their vertical life and jump in the car and come in contact the road. Their journey, however, turns into a mounting when Louise kills a man who threatens to french turnip Thelma. They decide to go to Mexico, nevertheless soon they are hunted by American police.
